Home Base
Drop In Teen Mentor
• Develop rapport with clients and familiarize yourself with the centre
• Outgoing and energetic
• Flexible and comfortable engaging teens in unstructured environment.
• Assist with homework, play games with students, help with programming or special activities going on at the centre
• Role model positive relationship building and establish clear boundaries
• Be an active listener and communicate with staff members regarding what is going on at the centre
• Be able to adapt to the “Home Base” environment

Homework Tutor
• Develop rapport with clients and familiarize yourself with the centre
• Assist clients with homework assignments, major projects, and essays
• Teach clients healthy study habits
• Promote positive schoolwork ethics

Cook
• Develop rapport with clients and familiarize yourself with the centre
• Learn the ins and outs of the full service kitchen
• Promote healthy and safe practices in the kitchen
• Update grocery list and communicate needs with staff team
• Plan cooking lessons that include appropriate food groups, and weekly meals
• Encourage youth to participate in cooking major meals ie) dinner time

Family Resource Services
Toy Washers (two positions)
Time Commitment: 3 hours per week
Duties: Wash toys and shelves at one of six sites weekly.

Ashton Meadows School, 230 Calvert Road, Unionville
Unionville Library, 15 Library Lane, Unionville
Milliken Mills Library, 7600 Kennedy Road, Unionville
St. James Church, 6432 Main Street, Stouffville
Cleaning Times: To be determined with volunteers

Office Assistant
Time Commitment: 3 hours per week
Duties:
• Answer telephone
• Give tours and registration forms to new families
• Call participants who have registered for programs
• Photocopy and collate handouts to participants

Snack Specialist
Time Commitment: 3 hours per week
Duties:
• Purchase juice, cookies, etc. every second week using money provided by Program Director
• Clean out and wash kitchen cupboards monthly
• Clean out and wash refrigerator monthly
• Set out snack for children once a week

Costume Keeper
Time Commitment: 3 hours per month
Duties:
• Repair and wash costumes as needed
• Engage children in dramatic play activities
• Purchase used clothing to be used as costumes

Santa
Time Commitment: 6 hours during December
Duties:
• Dress in Santa suit (provided) and attend six holiday parties at locations listed above
• Let children sit on your lap and give them each a present
• Allow yourself to be photographed with the children
